Magic on your Monitor

I don’t know about you… but I am starting to miss the parks and resorts like crazy. Maybe, I am behind the curve on this one but I have found some new ways to bring Disney Magic into my home. I am talking about magic on your monitor.

I am sure we all have our ways of reaching the magic when we are stuck at home. Obviously, I would encourage you to continue reading this blog and others ( wink). I also really enjoy listening to some of my favorite Disney centric podcasts like That Park Life Podcast.

On one of the episodes recently, they spoke with Jason from an account called Here with the Magic. Jason has taken some great Disney Parks and resort scenes and filmed them without narration for your Disney zen.

Want to walk around the the Polynesian? You can do that from your living room. Maybe, you miss your friendship boat rides on Cresent Lake. Take a ride from your iPhone.

I’m only slightly embarrassed to admit that I have been obsessed lately. I have enjoyed a cocktail in my living room while enjoying the ambiance of the Grand Floridan lobby and the Society Orchestra. I have been drooling over the sunset and ocean view from Aulani Resort, especially since we had to cancel our summer trip. ( cue the real tears).

If you really want to step up your game you can also choose to add the signature scent of the resort to your experience. There are lots of companies out there that make Dinsey inspired candle scents. My personal favorite is Circa 1955. You can find scents inspired by most resorts including the Grand Floridian, Polynesian, and The Contemporary.

The other thing that I am newly obsessed with is a website and youtube channel called Run the Impossible. Running is another favorite activity of mine. We love Disney races, but not always the cost. We also love staying on Disney property and running around the resorts to enjoy the theming of each unique Disney property.

This site gives you solutions for both. They have filmed some actual Disney races which are amazing in their own right which you can experience from your treadmill without the cost or leaving your house!

In addition to filming some amazing races, they have filmed a steady walkthroughs of US-based Disney parks. Prop up your tablet or phone and stream the video as you virtually “run” through the Disney park via your treadmill. This is a great way to make your treadmill feel a bit more magical as well as distracting.

Now if running is not your thing and you hate treadmills stick with me. These walkthroughs of Disney parks are great trip planning tools. Being able to virtually ” walk or run” through these parks will help you get a better feel for the parks and all the attractions relation to each other. Disney parks are vast and having a general idea of where you are going can seriously limit your frustration or time lost upon arrival to a theme park.

For some more fun at home check out Nicole’s post of Disney exercise videos to keep you active at home.

If you are feeling even more adventurous take a page from Kim’s notebook and follow along as she tries some Disney recipes from the comfort of her kitchen! Check out Kim’s attempt at a staple of Disneyland the churro.

Let me know what fun Disney inspired activities you are trying at home. Do you have any more suggestions for magic on your monitor? Tag me on your treadmill adventures over at @adventuresbydrennon on Instagram.
