Chase Disney Visa
Chase offers a Visa for Disney fans! Of course there is a credit card for that right? I am going to give you some details about the card and our experience with it! Disclaimer: This is not financial advice.
Why get a Chase Disney Visa?
There are two versions of this credit card. The regular visa with no annual fee ( which our family uses), and a Disney Premier Visa which has an annual fee. The other difference between the two cards is the percentage back earned on purchases. The basic card offers 1% on all purchases while the premier card offers 2% on a few categories of purchases ( Disney purchases, groceries, etc.).
There is also a sign up statement credit of $200 after spending $500 in the first 3 months. Additionally, when we signed up we received another credit of $50 for adding a second user to the account. We used these sign up bonuses as a way to offset the cost of a big Disney trip we had planned.
On the surface, 1% back on purchases may not sway you to pull the trigger on a new card. Check out what the Points guy has to say about it here.
We have had the card for around two years now. Perks and benefits have changed over the last several years. Some of the favorites that we have used include:
Special Character Meet and greets at Epcot ( rotating characters) We have seen Mickey and Goofy together with shorter lines. As well as a star wars meet and greet at Launch Bay at Hollywood Studios. This was previously Kylo Ren and is now Darth Vader. ( HA my face in this picture)
Discounts of 20% at Joffrey’s Coffee Kiosks around property. Yes, please!
Discounts on dining at various locations in and out of the parks. This discount has been around 10% which makes it less than the 20% pass-holder discount however if you are not a pass-holder this can be a nice perk.
Rewards dollars. When you cash out your reward points you are given a gift card with Disney Dollars. We have used our rewards card all over the parks. It should be noted that this card cannot be used or stacked with other discounts i.e. annual pass-holder discounts.
Perks that we have not taken advantage of include:
Discounts at Disneyland and onboard Disney Cruises. Discounts at Disney Vero Beach resort and Aulani resort and Spa. Currently, you can book a Disney vacation package with your card and get 6 months interest-free. In the past, they offered 6 months free interest on Disney Vacation Club purchases. The most recent promotions include 0% APR on Disney Vacations for 6 months.

I have a Disney Visa Card and regret not getting one sooner! I have Tinker Bell! I put all my Disney purchases on that card.
Jen
Tink is a great choice! We also put our Disney purchases on here.

Awesome! I have the Disney visa too, and I totally recommend it for any Disney lover. The benefits you mentioned are just too good to pass up!
Jen
I love that the perks change too! What character do you have on your card?

I secretly love when they ask “will you be paying with your Disney Visa?”… why yes, yes I will!

I like the bonuses that come in the mail. The image options are fun, too. My husband’s card has Yoda in it, and my card has Chewbacca on it. Haha…for a bit of extra fun, eh?
Jen
Yes! I get lots of comments on my BB8 card!

This looks like it would be worth it if you are a frequent visitor to Disney! I’ve never been! Yet…
Jen
It may also be a passive way to save…
