Why You Need to Eat at Carnation Cafe Restaurant in Disneyland!

Carnation Cafe Disneyland Restaurant: For those of you that know me, you know that I like my food. I mean I really, REALLY, like my food. And one of my favorite things to do in the whole wide world is trying new restaurants. Since we just recently went to Disneyland for the first time back in November, I had so many opportunities to try new things! Everything there was new to me! One of my favorite dining experiences was eating at The Carnation Cafe, right in the middle of Main Street USA in Disneyland Park.

The Location: Carnation Cafe Disneyland Restaurant

One of my favorite things about the Carnation Cafe is the location! As you can see from the map above, indicated by that little white bubble with a fork and knife, it is literally right smack-dab in the middle of Main Street USA. In my opinion, there truly is no other magical location to eat! This is where the heart and soul of Disneyland lies.

Another fun thing about the location of the Carnation Cafe is that there is outdoor and indoor seating. We chose to sit outside, basically right on the sidewalk of Main Street USA.

It was such a great location to sit! We were right next to the hustle and bustle of Main Street USA. Every once in awhile, one of the Main Street old fashion cars and busses would drive by. It was truly magical!

The Theme

I love the theme of the Carnation Cafe! Here is the theme according to Disneyland.com-

Relax under a candy-striped umbrella and watch the world pass by—or unwind inside the Victorian-style dining room as waiters in vintage dress bustle past. The Carnation Café takes you on a trip to the turn-of-the-century with a nostalgic menu of delicious delights for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Carnation Cafe truly delivers on the nostalgia and vintage vibes! You almost feel like you went back in time.

Now, on to my favorite part- the FOOD! We had breakfast at the Carnation Cafe. The reason we chose breakfast is because when I go to Disney, I NEED my Mickey waffles! (Want to make Mickey Waffles at home? Then click here!)

I am happy to say that their food did not disappoint! I don’t know what it is, but these were the BEST Mickey waffles I have ever had! My son ordered the mini Mickey Waffles, and my husband and I just the regular Mickey Waffles.

When I go back to Disneyland next (cross my fingers to hopefully sooner rather than later), I will be excited to try lunch or dinner. Their menu looks amazing! I am particularly interested in the Homemade Meatloaf and the Sourdough Bacon Cheese Melt.

What You Need to Know

With this restaurant (and many other restaurants in Disneyland), I highly recommend making a reservation. Advance reservations are highly recommended and can be made on the Disneyland website, or on the Disneyland app. The reservation window opens up 60 days in advance. There is a chance that same-day reservations can be made, but they are on a limited basis and are subject to availability.

Since Carnation Cafe is inside Disneyland Park, you will also need a valid theme park ticket for you and everyone else in your dining party.

So what do you think about the Carnation Cafe Disneyland Restaurant? Have you been there before? Is this someplace you would love to try out one day? Let me know in the comments down below! I'm a lover of all things Disney! I have an adorable son named Andy (after Toy Story), and an amazing hubby named Aaron. For my family and I, Disney isn’t just a hobby or someplace we casually go when on vacation, it's a way of life. We try to go back 'Home' twice a year. My hope for this blog is to help families navigate their crazy, magical times through Disney and reach their Disney Dream!
