Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique: It’s for Boys Too!

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for Boys: I think almost everyone dreams about taking their kids to Disney. I know before I had my son, I couldn’t wait till we had a child to take to the parks and experience all the magic! There is just something so special seeing Disney through their little eyes, especially for the first time.

As the years went on and my son got older (he is currently 5), he has become a total Disney nerd. Andy knows tons of WDW and Disneyland facts. He can find his way around the parks and he is always building his own version of Disney World or Disneyland at home or drawing pictures of it. He just LOVES Disney and has experienced a lot of what Disney has to offer. But, there was one thing we just never did- Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

For those of you that don’t know what Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is, here is a direct quote from Disney-

With the wave of a magic wand—plus a few hands-on tricks of the trade—our Fairy Godmothers-in-Training will pamper and primp your child until they look storybook stunning. Children can choose a hairstyle then add makeup, nail color and accessories—even a Disney Princess costume.

Share the fun as your little one enjoys a resplendently royal head-to-toe transformation!

Whenever I read that, I always just assumed that it was meant for girls who really love the princesses. Don’t get me wrong, my son loves meeting with the Princesses, but that’s about it. He prefers to dress up as a Jedi.

While we were in Disneyland the other month, the thought crossed my mind- do they have packages at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for boys? I walked in and asked. They sure did! They fortunately had an opening right then! So off we went to give my son the royal Knight treatment!

The Beginning

When I signed him up, they told us to wait just outside Sleeping Beauty’s Castle and they would call us soon. Not even 10 minutes later we heard, ” Sir Andy! Sir Andy! Is there a Sir Andy here?”. Andy was ecstatic to hear them call him “Sir Andy”.

When we went over to where they were calling his name, this sweet “Fairy Godmother in Training” took us through the back door. Once we got inside, she led us to a dressing room where a Knight in Shining Armor shirt, sword, and a shield were waiting for him. After I helped Andy get dressed in his new snazzy outfit, we were led over to a chair where the transformation was about to begin!

The next part of this experience was to get Andy’s hair all handsome and neat. If you know my kid, he almost always has messy hair ( mostly my fault because we never seem to find the time to get it cut!). He wasn’t thrilled with this part. He doesn’t like to stay still for too long so he was itching to move around. But his Fairy Godmother was amazing with him! She moved quickly as not to make him uncomfortable.

The next part was one of his favorite parts of this whole thing- getting dragon scales in his hair. For the little girls, they seem to do more of a fine glitter. But the glitter that they put in his hair did almost resemble dragon scales! Andy absolutely loved it!

Would you look at this kid’s face? Look at how excited he is! Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is something I would FOR SURE do again with my boy in a heartbeat! If you would like to see Andy’s face during the ‘big reveal’, check out the video below!

Maybe it’s just the mom in be, but that smile on his face just makes my heart melt!

You can also see my husband in the mirror too- he was equally as excited!

Here are some more photos of him throughout the rest of the day in his cool, new costume. Andy ran into some “bad guys” during the day. He is normally a little timid with them, but with his sword and shield in hand, and dragon scales on his head, he was way more confident!

I'm a lover of all things Disney! I have an adorable son named Andy (after Toy Story), and an amazing hubby named Aaron. For my family and I, Disney isn’t just a hobby or someplace we casually go when on vacation, it's a way of life. We try to go back 'Home' twice a year. My hope for this blog is to help families navigate their crazy, magical times through Disney and reach their Disney Dream!
