Top 5 Reasons to Stay at The All-Star Sports Resort
All-Star Sports: One of the highlights of any Disney trip is the resort. You always want to make sure that you picked a good one! With that in mind, sometimes people shy away from the Value Resorts. Some might think that just because it has the word “Value” in it, that it won’t be a great resort. But that isn’t the case at all! This article is part of a three-part series that is all about the All-Star Resorts! So sit back, relax, and let’s get started!

1. Location/Buses
I had to put these two points together. The All-Star Resorts are technically all in the same location. They are right next to each other and you can walk from one to another if you wanted too. But, location wise, the All-Star Sports Resort is the first one in the lineup. The reason why this is a plus is that sometimes the resorts share buses since they are so close. So if your bus is making a stop at all three resorts, at least you will have the benefit of being the first ones on the bus, and the first ones off the bus. It can be very convenient!
2. Size
All three resorts are very similar in size. They all have close to the same amount of rooms. But the way that this resort is set up just makes it feel small. I usually like to purchase Preferred rooms so that I can be just steps away from the main area and my morning coffee. But at the beginning of this month when I stay at the All-Star Sports, there were not any Preferred rooms available to purchase. So I just went with what they had available. But I got to say, next time I stay at the All-Star Sports, I will not get preferred! The regular rooms are only a short walk from the main area and the bus stops. So my personal opinion is: save money and don’t purchase the preferred rooms here. Use that money that you saved on some Mickey Pretzels!
3. Theming
Okay, those that really know me know that I know absolutely NOTHING about sports. I just have no interest and it’s just not my thing. So staying at the All-Star Sports resort was at the bottom of my list. It did not appeal to me whatsoever. But when it came to booking a last-minute trip (click here to read about how to book a last minute trip), there wasn’t much of a choice.
I wanted to stay in a Value resort because that’s what worked with my budget this trip, but they were all sold out. So All-Star Sports it was.
Surprisingly, I thought this resort was incredibly cute! Even if you are not a sports fan, you will love the cute theming of this brightly colored resort. My son’s favorite section was the tennis section because it had statues of Huey, Dewy, Lewy and Donald Duck. He loved to just run around that area!
4. Price
Disney pricing is always changing. I can’t tell you exactly right now how much you would pay per night, but I have found that whenever I am booking my WDW vacation, I always seem to notice that All-Star Sports is usually the cheapest resort. If you don’t want to blow your vacation budget all in one place, then consider this resort!
5. Castmembers
First, let me state that most Castmembers all over WDW are amazing! But for some reason, All-Star Sports has an abundance of amazing Castmembers working here. My son and I had amazing encounters with some of them. They were all incredibly helpful and seemed to really care about my son and me. There were numerous times that a cast member would just come up to my son, give him a sticker, and start talking to him! One even gave him a ballon. I know these might sound like little things, but the little things really add up to a great experience!
