Three Ways to Get into the Disney World Parks Early Before the Crowds!

Three Ways to Get into the Disney World Parks Early Before the Crowds!: We all know that when it comes to planning a Disney World vacation, timing and planning are essential. If you don’t plan right, you might not be using your time to your benefit (let alone your hard-earned money!)

Something that can hold us back is the crowds. We can wake up really early and feel like we did all of our planning right! But once we get to the parks we realize…oops, so did everyone else! Now there is a HUGE crowd in front of us and the park isn’t even open yet!

Have you ever wished that there was a way to get in front of those crowds? Well guess what! There is! Below I will tell you the three ways to get into the Disney World Parks early before the crowds!

Early Morning Magic

Early Morning Magic is a great way to not only beat the crowds into the park, but get to ride some of your favorite rides before anyone else! Now, this is not to be confused with Extra Magic Hours ( Disney is notorious for naming things similarly. I will talk more about Extra Magic Hours in my next point). Early Morning Magic is a special ticketed event that you will have to pay for in advance. This option is not available all the time, so you have to check the calendar dates to see when these special events are available. There are two parks that Early Morning Magic takes place: Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.

Magic Kingdom: Make your morning more magical with this early-access experience in the park! You will need a ticket to the Magic Kingdom and a ticket to Early Morning Magic. This specifically takes place in Fantasyland. The rides that are available are:

  • “it’s a small world”
  • Mad Tea Party
  • The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
  • Peter Pan’s Flight
  • Princess Fairytale Hall
  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
  • Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid

Not only will you get to ride all of these amazing rides, but it also includes FOOD! This breakfast buffet at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café includes:

  • Scrambled eggs
  • Smoked bacon
  • Sausage
  • Breakfast potatoes
  • Pancakes
  • Freshly baked pastries
  • Cheese and cured meats
  • Seasonal fruit
  • Oatmeal
  • Granola
  • Yogurt
  • Assorted juices
  • Coffee and teas

Check-in for this special event starts at 7:30 am! So don’t be late! The price for this is $89 per adult (ages 10 and older) and $79 per child (ages 3 to 9).

Hollywood Studios: If you and your family are more of a Toy Story fan, then this one is for you! This Early Morning Magic takes place in Toys Story Land ( Andy’s Backyard). You will need a ticket to Hollywood Studios and a ticket to Early Morning Magic. The rides /attractions that are available are:

  • Slinky Dog Dash
  • Alien Swirling Saucers
  • Toy Story Mania
  • Meet and Greet with Buzz, Woody, and Jessie

Food for event will include:

  • yogurt
  • fruit
  • pastries
  • assorted cereal
  • avocado toast
  • fried chicken served with a tasty cronut
  • and more!

This breakfast will be available at a quick-service dining location outside of Toy Story Land.

The Price for this is $79 per adult (ages 10 and older) and $69 per child (ages 3 to 9). Regular theme park admission is also required.

Unfortunately, it looks like Disney is currently not making reservations for this particular Early Morning Magic. My guess is that it is because of all the craziness that is going on over at Galaxy’s Edge. I bet once everything calms down again this will come back!

Extra Magic Hours

The second option is Extra Magic Hours! I love this one because it’s free (well, to some people, but I will explain that in a minute). And if you have been around here for any length of time, you will know that I love my free or cheap things (click here to read about all of the FREE things that you can get on your trip!).

Anyway, Extra Magic Hours is a less exclusive option then Early Morning Magic, but it is complementary to Disney resort guests. The reason why this is less exclusive is that this is available to ALL Disney World Resort guests. So even though it will have fewer crowds during this time then a typical day in the parks, it will have more people the Early Morning Magic.

Extra Magic Hours has two time slots- before the parks open and after the parks close. Since this article is specifically talking about ways to get into the Disney World parks early before the crowds, we are going to only talk about the morning ones.

Extra Magic Hours will typically open the parks up for resort guest an hour early. But, only on certain days and at certain parks. One day it might be Magic Kingdom, the next day it might be Epcot. Check the calendar here to see what the schedule is like during your trip.

Early Morning Breakfast Reservations

Nicole Ellington

This one is probably my FAVORITE one to utilize and I do it almost every trip! But you have to have a strategy!

Typical, the parks open up at 9 am (unless there is Extra Magic Hours or Early Morning Magic). Disney will start making dining reservations at about 7:55 am ( disclaimer- that’s the earliest I have seen available reservations. But like with anything, Disney can change this at any time).

There are a few restaurants available for early morning bookings-

Magic Kingdom:

  • Crystal Palace
  • Cinderella’s Royal Table
  • Be Our Guest

Epcot:

  • Akershus Royal Banquet
  • Garden Grill

Hollywood Studios:

  • Hollywood and Vine

Animal Kingdom:

  • Tusker House

My favorite way to handle this is to book Be Our Guest for about 8:10 reservation. There are a few reasons for this-

  • It’s the only Quick Service location on this list. This means that the time it takes you to have your meal will be shorter then it would be at the other restaurants. This way, you can be out of there at about 8:45 and be on your way to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train before the park even opens for the day!
  • I like booking 8:10 because Disney will let you in the park at about 7:45 (honestly, it depends on the Cast Member though, but seems to be the average time we are let in). Now, we have some time to wander Main Street and take photos in front of the castle with hardly any crowds!

If you plan on doing this, make sure you book your dining reservations AS SOON as you 180 days come around. These breakfast reservations are quite popular and can go quickly. To figure out when you 180 days is, click here to go to our Disney World Trip Calculator!

I'm a lover of all things Disney! I have an adorable son named Andy (after Toy Story), and an amazing hubby named Aaron. For my family and I, Disney isn’t just a hobby or someplace we casually go when on vacation, it's a way of life. We try to go back 'Home' twice a year. My hope for this blog is to help families navigate their crazy, magical times through Disney and reach their Disney Dream!
