New Exhibit in the Morocco Pavillion at Epcot
I love wandering around Epcot. I love the food, drinks, music, and atmosphere. I also love the new Exhibit in the Morocco Pavillion at Epcot.
Wandering the streets of the Morocco Pavillion transports you away from Orlando. The smell of the shops and the beauty of the tiles are worth a look. Besides having some of our favorites restaurants and drinks in this pavilion there are also some hidden gems.
In this pavilion is a small little “museum” that was recently updated. The newest exhibit is called” Race Against the Sun”. In addition to shelter from the rain and heat, you will find a beautifully tiled room full of information on two modern-day races in the desert. The Marathon des Sables (Marathon of the Sands) and Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc (Rally of the Gazelles ) are explained in this exhibit.
The Marathon des Sables is an ultra-marathon across the desert. My husband, an ultramarathoner himself, found this piece extremely interesting. It is quite something to think about people running so far in those conditions.
The Rally of the Gazelles is where things get really fun. You can sit in the driver’s seat of a rally car and drive through the Sahara Desert! The screen plays a continuous loop of footage giving you the feeling of peeling through the sand dunes. It is a great stop to let your kids have some fun and for you to cool off. This spot is less of a destination and more of an accidental discovery so you may have the whole place to yourself on any given day.
Let me know if you go check it out. Check out these other great things to do with kids at Epcot.
P.S. the water bottle in the driver’s seat is part of the exhibit. You will understand when you see it.
Oh gosh, my family would love the rally of gazelles! That sounds so awesome!
This looks like fun. Epcot is a two-day park for us whenever we can swing it because I love to take the time and really see everything back in the world showcase. And now that the kids are older, they are more interested as well. We will definitely check it out on our next visit. Thank you for sharing. ❤️
I agree . You need a few days to try to see it all!
I love Epcot and can’t wait to check out this exhibit! It looks so fun.
Sounds like you and your family had a great time. It looks fun.
I have been to Disney a couple of years ago and cannot wait to go back. This new exhibit looks really cool.
If we ever go back to Orlando, I want us to check this out. My family would get some great entertainment out of this.
OMG I miss Disney so much. I love Epcot. Love the pavilions and the way you can learn a little bit of different cultures. I will love to go to that Moroccan Pavilion.
Now you tell me! I was in Epcot last week and had no idea, we would have stopped in as we ran through the park (we were on a media trip). Now I have to go back!
We usually skip Epcot at Disney but I feel like they have been a lot of new attractions in so it may be worth taking a peak and checking it all out!
So many new things coming to Epcot as well.
When we go back to Orlando, we’ve got to check this out! It looks like a lot of fun! I know our kids will get a lot of excitement out of it!
oOo…i have yet to visit disneyworld & i’ve always wanted to check out morocco! this might be a great two-for-one!
We are such huge Disney fans! There is always so much to see and do. Thank you for sharing! We can’t wait to go back! 🙂

thanks for sharing, Jen. I miss WDW for sure. When I make it back, I will have to check it out. Wonder how this works with the crowds in summer? Joy
It is a small space , I bet it could get crowded.
my kiddos would love this. we have to check it out when we are there next. i’ll have to show them.
Let me know what they think
I love how there is just so much to explore at disney. Hoping to visit next year!
Epcot is hands down my favorite spot to visit in Florida. There are so many awesome things to do and see.
Always something new to see too!
It’s a new way to expose kids to see the challenges of living in the formidable environment. One of the many reasons Epcot is so special is the opportunity to experience art, history and diverse world cultures firsthand
As a runner, I would love to visit this exhibit! I’ve read about these races before but this would give me a whole new perspective.
It was impressive for sure!

It would be awesome if we can go to Epcot! It is been a lifelong dream for me! Well, if I cannot go there in my lifetime, I would be happy if my kids could. It would make me feel as if I have been there too, considering that half of their chromosomes comes from me.

Hihi….this reminds me of the first time I wore IR glasses and could literally see myself everywhere I wanted to be. I bet I would try visiting this Moroccan Pavillion.
Right it is like a mini VR in a way.
Epcot just keeps getting better and better!
There are a lot of changes happening now!
