Five of our Favorite Spots to grab a drink

Best Spots to Get a Drink at Disney: We love Disney and we also love the cocktails of Disney.  We really enjoy taking our children to Disney but it’s also a great place for a date night, a weekend away, or a night out.  Here are a few of our favorite spots to grab a drink and relax.

5.  Jiko

There is a little bar tucked away inside Jiko at the Animal Kingdom Lodge that requires no reservation. Here, your bartender can concoct anything your heart desires. However, I recommend having a glass of wine. The Animal Kingdom  Lodge has the largest collection of African wines in the United States.  You can also sample some of the food on the Jiko menu.  Go for the wild boar tenderloin, you won’t be sorry.

4. Geyser Point- Best Spots to Get a Drink at Disney

Geyser Point Bar and Grill is located next to the main pool at the Wilderness Lodge. The drinks here are all made with liquor procured from the Pacific Northwest. Disney really likes to keep with the theme at the Wilderness Lodge. The atmosphere is what makes Geyser Point Bar and Grill Mr. Drennon’s personal favorite spot. It’s got a nice view of Bay Lake, solid snacks and good drinks. What is not to love? This is a family-friendly spot, so bring the kids and sit close to the water. They can bounce around while you sip.

3.  The Gurgling Suitcase- Best Spots to Get a Drink at Disney

Over at Old Key West is the smallest lounge of all (located right next to Olivia’s restaurant). Just a few bar stools and some outside seating are all that make up this hidden gem but you can order some food from Olivia’s Restaurant next door. For drinks, order the Sultry Seahorse (because its just fun to say) or the Pink Lemonade (it’s my favorite). Enjoy the drinks at the tiny bar, by the pool, or outside while the kids get an ice cream from the walk-up window. You can reach Old Key West resort via boat from Disney Springs.

2. The Tambu Lounge- Best Spots to Get a Drink at Disney

This lounge in the Polynesian Resort has a lot of charm, delicious snacks, and a view of the castle.  It is located right next to ‘Ohana on the second floor of the resort. The real reason I love this spot is the Lapu Lapu. The drink is tasty and it is in a pineapple! Yes! ( an actual Take your fancy pineapple drink to the pool and you will be the envy of all.) If you want to save some money order the drink sans pineapple. You can also order the ‘Ohana bread pudding here…enough said. The Backscratcher is a close second favorite drink.. and it comes with a souvenir! ( an actual backscratcher of course!)

1. Trader Sams Grogg Grotto

I can’t help it. I love this bar! I love the atmosphere, the chants, and the drinks. I love taking people here for the first time, and I love that it makes me laugh.  I love how themed this place is down to the drinks. (Can you tell I really love it?) But, I don’t want to spoil too much if you haven’t been! My drink of choice here is the tropical dark and stormy. I literally laughed out loud the first time I ordered it. (I’m not going to spoil it with a picture.)  Kids are welcome here, but not after 8pm.  I have not taken mine. I think I’ll save this gem until they are old enough to stay. Find Trader Sams in a hallway past Captain Cooks quick-service restaurant on the first floor of the Polynesian Village Resort.  You may have to wait for a table but you can grab a spot on the patio and enjoy a highly themed drink while you wait. This is my favorite Best Spots to Get a Drink at Disney!

Best Spots to Get a Drink at Disney: I have more great spots to share with you.  There is just so much more to Disney than the parks. I hope you enjoy exploring these spots as much as I do!
