Epcot for Kids: Top 8 Things Kids Will LOVE! Disney World

Epcot for Kids: Epcot is one of my favorite parks in Disney World. The sights, the sounds, the smells, the food… oh there is so much yummy food! And since there are tons to do for adults, most people think that this is an ‘adults only park,’ and might skip it if they don’t think their kids will be interested. But this is so not true! Kids can have a blast here! Let me show you my top 7 things for kids to do in Epcot.

1. Visit the Kidcot Stations in the Word Showcase

Nicole Ellington

Did you know that while you are touring the sights (and cuisine) of the World Showcase, that your little one can do art projects around the world? See the Cast Member at any Kidcot Fun Stop to get a complimentary postcard themed to that country. From there, your child can color the cute cards however they like. Each Cast Member will share insights about his or her native land, and sometimes even write your kid’s name on the card in their native language! Visit the Kidcot Fun Stop in every pavilion to collect them all!

Where to Find Kidcot Fun Stops

  • Mexico Pavilion (near Animales Fantasticos)
  • Norway Pavilion (at The Puffin’s Roost)
  • China Pavilion (near the exit of Reflections of China)
  • Germany Pavilion (at Volkunst)
  • Italy Pavilion (outside, near La Bottega Italiana)
  • American Adventure Pavilion (outside, near Heritage Manor Gifts)
  • Japan Pavilion (in the Bijutsu-kan Gallery)
  • Morocco Pavilion (at the Marketplace in the Medina)
  • France Pavilion (at Souvenirs de France)
  • United Kingdom Pavilion (at The Toy Soldier)
  • Canada Pavilion (at the exit of O Canada!)

If you would like to read more about the Kidcot Stations, I wrote a whole post on it. Click here to find out more!

2. Easter Egg-stravaganza– Epcot for Kids

If you are visiting around Easter, don’t miss the Disney Egg-stravaganza. The kids will for sure have an egg-celent time (see what I did there?)! You buy your map at the Port of Entry and make your way through each country searching for the egg-squisite eggs. When you find the egg, you place the corresponding sticker on the map. Doesn’t that sound like an egg-citing time? Okay, okay… I promise I’m done with the puns… for now.

3. Taste the World

A popular activity in EPCOT for adults is to Eat/Drink around the world. But why can’t the kids join in (obviously not the drinking part, though)? A fun idea would be to have a prepaid gift card and let the kids join in on the fun! Some of the cuisines might be a little too adventurous for the younger ones, but there are plenty of options for everyone! Let them get a piece of chocolate from Germany or some fun fruit-flavored candy from Japan! They can grab a pastry from France, or a maple syrup lollipop from Canada!

4. Character Meets and Greets

I know you can meet characters all over Disney, but Epcot has some truly unique experiences! Meet characters that you don’t usually see in other places. Alice from Alice in Wonderland, Mulan, Belle, sometimes the Beast, Snow White, Aurora, Marie from The Aristocats, Mary Poppins, Ana and Elsa, and Donald from The Three Caballeros can all be found at Epcot. Also, Baymax from Big Hero 6, and Joy and Sadness from Inside out!

5. Aquariums– Epcot for Kids

Kids love The Seas with Nemo and Friends!  You can see dolphins, manatees, seahorses, and all kinds of sea creatures. I also like to play a little game where I count how many people say ‘Hey look, I found Nemo!’ And let me tell you, it’s a lot. You can also do Turtle Talk with Crush here. It’s a fun and unique experience that the kids will talk about well after your trip. I mean how many times in your life will you be able to have a conversation with a sea turtle!?

6. Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure

This might be something great for the older kids in the group to do! Stop Dr. Doofenshmirtz and foil his dastardly plans! There is a booth right before the World Showcase begins where Cast Members will brief you on your mission.  Once that happens, Major Monogram and his intern, Carl, will send their Agents (aka, your child) a series of clues via text message. The clues will lead you through one of the following destinations: China, France, Germany, Japan, Mexico, or the UK. Each pavilion hosts a different adventure that lasts about 35 minutes. After successfully maneuvering through the mission, agents will experience a very special “thank you” for helping to save the world!

NOTE: Since this article was originally published- Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure is now replaced with a similar interactive game featuring Huey, Dewey, and Louie, Webby, Scrooge McDuck from DuckTales called DuckTales World Showcase Adventure. The game setup is very similar, it just has a new theming.

7. Bo Peep’s Playtime Training Grounds – Epcot for Kids

Get your playing on with this fun and exciting playground! This area was introduced at the 2018 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival and call ‘Ralph Breaks the Internet Playground’. It was rumored to be just for the Festival, but now it will be a permanent addition to the park and change themes and sponsors seasonally. Now, it’s presented by Toy Story 4. This playground is located on the Test Track side of Mouse Gear.

8. Club Cool

*Edited to add- This is currently closed down :(. But I am crossing my fingers that Disney will bring it back again soon once the Epcot reservations are all done!

Last, but certainly not least, is the famous Club Cool. What’s better than trying FREE soda from around the world on a hot day? It’s a great way to cool down and experience something new. Try to make a game out of it! Do a blind taste test. Come up with a rating system and vote on which one your group likes the best. The fun here is endless! Fair warning… there is a flavor here that is, well…. notoriously gross. I’ll not reveal which one it is as not to spoil the surprise 🙂 Also, you can purchase really fun frozen drinks here! Great for a hot day.

What do you think about Epcot for kids? Do your kids enjoy it? What is their favorite thing to do there? I would love to know! Leave me a comment down below and let me know what you think. I'm a lover of all things Disney! I have an adorable son named Andy (after Toy Story), and an amazing hubby named Aaron. For my family and I, Disney isn’t just a hobby or someplace we casually go when on vacation, it's a way of life. We try to go back 'Home' twice a year. My hope for this blog is to help families navigate their crazy, magical times through Disney and reach their Disney Dream!
