New Exhibit in the Morocco Pavillion at Epcot

I love wandering around Epcot. I love the food, drinks, music, and atmosphere. I also love the new Exhibit in the Morocco Pavillion at Epcot.

Wandering the streets of the Morocco Pavillion transports you away from Orlando. The smell of the shops and the beauty of the tiles are worth a look. Besides having some of our favorites restaurants and drinks in this pavilion there are also some hidden gems.

In this pavilion is a small little “museum” that was recently updated. The newest exhibit is called” Race Against the Sun”. In addition to shelter from the rain and heat, you will find a beautifully tiled room full of information on two modern-day races in the desert. The Marathon des Sables (Marathon of the Sands) and Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc (Rally of the Gazelles ) are explained in this exhibit.

The Marathon des Sables is an ultra-marathon across the desert. My husband, an ultramarathoner himself, found this piece extremely interesting. It is quite something to think about people running so far in those conditions.

The Rally of the Gazelles is where things get really fun. You can sit in the driver’s seat of a rally car and drive through the Sahara Desert! The screen plays a continuous loop of footage giving you the feeling of peeling through the sand dunes. It is a great stop to let your kids have some fun and for you to cool off. This spot is less of a destination and more of an accidental discovery so you may have the whole place to yourself on any given day.

Let me know if you go check it out. Check out these other great things to do with kids at Epcot.

P.S. the water bottle in the driver’s seat is part of the exhibit. You will understand when you see it.
