Monsieur Paul- Dining Review

Monsiuer Paul- Dining Review: This a long overdue Monsieur Paul- Dining review post, possibly the best place we had dinner at Walt Disney World last year. Monsieur Paul is signature dining located in the France Pavillion. This restaurant is upstairs or on top of Chefs de France.

We booked Monsieur Paul to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary. With that in mind, we also booked our children into the only Disney Kids Club left, for now. We wanted to enjoy a slow-paced meal that we knew would be expensive sans children. That being said we did see children in the dining room, so if you wanted to bring the little ones you wouldn’t be alone.

My parents were kind enough to send a bottle of champaign to our table to help us celebrate. As you can imagine this took a bit for us to drink and they did not rush us to leave or order. We had a great seat next to the window and it was perfect for people watching.

There are two options for dinner here a Prix Fixe Menu and the regular menu. We opted to order off the regular menu because at the time my husband had several diet restrictions.

We started with the delicious and pricey Oxtail Broth (to share). My husband had to order this soup without the glorious puff pastry top but it was still delicious and full of truffle shavings. The waiter recommended a wine to pair with each course. We split a perfectly paired glass of wine with the soup.

I ordered the Black Sea Bass ($46). It was as beautiful as it was delicious. My husband had a modified Pan-seared Artic Char. Dinner also comes with your choice of a variety of bread rolls. My plain french bread was perfect my husband really enjoyed the olive roll. I am not a big fan of olives but it was still tasty.

Now for maybe the best part, dessert. We could not share a dessert because my husband could not have any dairy. He had a chocolate mousse with fruit, the waiter said this was a popular dish with the kids! I ordered La Sphere. This was the fanciest dessert I have ever eaten. The chocolate sphere has cake and ice cream inside. Warm Cognac and Chocolate sauce is poured over the sphere melting the chocolate and revealing the cake inside. I have only seen such a thing on the food network before!

This was a leisurely two and a half hour dinner. Perfect for a special occasion. I did not mind spending money here as the food and service were top-notch. I will not sugar coat it if I think it’s not worth it.
