Kidcot: A Fun Activity For Kids at Epcot!

Many people seem to think that the World Showcase in Epcot is just for adults. That’s not true at all! (If you would like to read more about the awesome things kids can do in Epcot, click here) In fact, while you are touring the sights (and cuisine) of the World Showcase, your little one can do mini art projects around the world! This has quickly become a highlight of my son’s day while visiting Epcot! Kidcot is also a great activity to do for those who have kids that might not love the World Showcase. This will really get them to be interested in it! Best part, it’s FREE! So let’s jump in!

What is Kidcot?

Kidcot is basically a little section in each country that let the kiddos sit down for a minute, color a postcard, collect stickers, and interact with the cast members. The goal of Kidcot is to collect all 11 postcards from around the world. If you are able to collect them all, you will get a bonus postcard at the end that says “I Traveled the World Showcase at Epcot”. This is a real postcard that you can either keep for yourself or fill out and send it to anyone you like.

The Postcards have two sides. One side of the Postcard features the name of the country on a banner that resembles that country’s flag along with the capital city, as well as fun facts about the country. There is also a blank area that says “Make a new friend in ….”. The cast member will write a message, write your kid’s name in their native langue, or draw a picture for them.

On the other side of the postcard is a scene that the kiddos can color that goes along with the country they just collected it from. The picture usually features Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Chip and Dale, or Pluto. My son was always so excited to collect a new card to see what ‘friend’ would be on it next.

Each country also provides a sticker that’s themed to that country also. There is no actual space for the stickers on the cards, so my son just kept them on the paper they came on.

At the start of Kidcot, they will also give your kid a Ziplock bag that resembles a suitcase. This is a great way to keep all of their collections. But do be careful, the paper handles easily rip. We had to replace my son’s bag twice!

Where are the Kidcot Stations?

They are in every country! Sometimes, they can be hard to find, which was part of the fun for my son. He treated it as a scavenger hunt, and was so excited when he found the station. Below is where you can find them all:

  • Mexico Pavilion (near Animales Fantasticos)
  • Norway Pavilion (at The Puffin’s Roost)
  • China Pavilion (near the exit of Reflections of China)
  • Germany Pavilion (at Volkunst)
  • Italy Pavilion (outside, near La Bottega Italiana)
  • American Adventure Pavilion (outside, near Heritage Manor Gifts)
  • Japan Pavilion (in the Bijutsu-kan Gallery)
  • Morocco Pavilion (at the Marketplace in the Medina)
  • France Pavilion (at Souvenirs de France)
  • United Kingdom Pavilion (at The Toy Soldier)
  • Canada Pavilion (at the exit of O Canada!)

Adding Some Magic to Kidcot

Kidcot in itself is already pretty fun. But there are a few things that you can do to add some more magic to the experience!

  • Ask the cast member how to say ‘Hello’ in the langue of that country
  • Ask a question to learn more about that country. Whether is a special tradition of the country, about a holiday in that country, or maybe even something to do with food!
  • Ask if they can write your kids name on the card ( this is especially fun in China, Japan, and Morocco)
  • Ask about an animal that’s native to the country

When its all said and done, your kid will have an awesome (and free) souvenir to look back on. Also, hopefully, that learned something along the way! Have you and your kids ever done this before? Is it something that you will be trying out next trip! Let me know in the comments down below! You can also tag me in your photos of Kidcot on Instagram at @DisneyDreamCo. I would love to see them!

I'm a lover of all things Disney! I have an adorable son named Andy (after Toy Story), and an amazing hubby named Aaron. For my family and I, Disney isn’t just a hobby or someplace we casually go when on vacation, it's a way of life. We try to go back 'Home' twice a year. My hope for this blog is to help families navigate their crazy, magical times through Disney and reach their Disney Dream!
