Great Activities To Do at WDW that Also Make Awesome (and FREE) Souvenirs

FREE. Who doesn’t love something that is free? I am a self-proclaimed cheap-o and LOVE when I see that I can get something for free. I feel like I am wasting money if I don’t do whatever the free thing is. Anyway, I figured coming up with a list of activities in Disney that give you free souvenirs would be great! So here we go! I hope you enjoy this list!

1. Collecting Stickers Around the Parks

Who doesn’t love stickers? Collecting stickers is a fun, neat way to bring back some free souvenirs and make a fun activity out of it! Depending on what park you are in, and what area of that park you are in, you can find some really awesome themed ones! Sometimes Castmembers are just walking around, handing them out. Sometimes you have to go up to a Castmember and ask. Its really like a fun little scavenger hunt that takes no time at all. My son usually takes all of my stickers, but the ones that I manage to keep, I end up putting the stickers in my notebook when I get home so I can keep the nice and neat.

2. Kidcot Stations at Epcot

I have written an article about this before (click here to read it), so I will give a brief overview of this one. Basically, kids (or adults. There is no age limit on this) go around the world showcase collecting postcards from each country! This is a great activity to really explore the country that you are in and to interact with the Castmembers. Once you are done, you have a great souvenir to take home!

3. Pirate’s Adventure at Magic Kingdom

Captain Jack Sparrow needs your help! Over in Adventureland in Magic Kingdom, you and your party can help Captian Jack find five treasures and become pirates! A magic talisman starts the game and one of five maps guide you on your quest. When you complete each mission, you’ll receive a very special treasure finder card. After you collect all 5, you’ll get the sixth and final card—signed by Captain Jack Sparrow himself! The recruitment headquarters is right across from Peco’s Bill’s restaurant. After you are done playing the game, you can keep the maps as a souvenir!

4. Wilderness Explorers at Animal Kingdom

“Adventure is Out There!” This is a great activity that not only lets you take home a cute (and free) souvenir, but it also teaches you about the world around you! When you start this activity, you will receive a booklet, learn the Wilderness Explorer Pledge, and learn the official Cow Cow Roar call from a Disney cast member. From there, you will take a look at the map to find out where the other stations are. At each of the stations, you will learn about animal behavior, geography, conservation and more! Once you complete a station, you will earn a badge. Earn enough badges and become a Senior Wilderness Explorer!

5. Sorcerers of The Magic Kingdom

This game is such a blast! It is honestly one of the highlights of my son’s and husband’s vacation and their favorite activities in Disney! This game can get pretty involved, but the gist of the game is that you have to go around Magic Kingdom and use your cards at portals to save the Magic Kingdom from Disney Villains. To start off the game, head over to the Fire Station at the beginning of Main Street. Here, a Castmember will get you started. They will give you a map and each person in your party a deck of cards. Once you are all set up, Merlin the Magician, from the Sword and the Stone makes you his apprentice. Then it’s off on the first mission! Use the map to find the portals. Merlin will guide you through the game and tell you what portal to go to next. This game takes a lot of time, but it’s incredibly fun!

6. Jedi Training Academy

Now this is another one that I have covered (click here to read more), so I will give you a brief explanation of this. Kids ages 4-12 can learn how to become a Jedi and learn the ways of the force! This activity is unlike any other. It’s an experience that all Star Wars kids must do! Once their training is complete, the kids will each take home a pin, proving that they are now officially a Jedi.

I'm a lover of all things Disney! I have an adorable son named Andy (after Toy Story), and an amazing hubby named Aaron. For my family and I, Disney isn’t just a hobby or someplace we casually go when on vacation, it's a way of life. We try to go back 'Home' twice a year. My hope for this blog is to help families navigate their crazy, magical times through Disney and reach their Disney Dream!
